I also fired up a Plex media server on each motherboard, and it served up to four 4k videos just fine as long as they were native resolution and format.

But this site lists the N5105 with "Jasper Lake 24EU" and the N100 with "Iris Xe 24EUs". Are there any significant differences in both chips when it comes to 4k streaming and 4k mkv-video playback?

2023年7月11日 · The N5105 can do a lot but also there is a lot that it isn't good enough for buying new today with 4 CPU threads and Jasper Lake 24EU iGPU. So web browsing, office, and some ultra light emmulation and games are fine, more than that can get choppy. Unfortunately the N5105 controller is limited to 16GB which is fine for most users.

2022年6月29日 · Of course all this comes out a few weeks after I have received my box. I have ordered the N5105 and put 8GB RAM as well as a 250GB NVMe in there. I run proxmox on it and on top of proxmox pfsense, pihole and some docker containers. Works really well. Gets warm to the touch, but temperatures are in the high 40s or high 50s (celcius).

The handy thing about the N5105 case is the fins allow the head of a bolt to be slid down between them, so I ordered a 120mm fan and mounted it to the case. It did a good job, but I was still surprised by the big temp fluctuations as you can see in the included graphs. Because tinker, I decided to try out the N100 but in a much smaller form factor.

I recently discovered the Celeron N5105 in an Aerofara China tiny computer that I purchased from Amazon (maybe out of stock) for Plex duty to replace a previous China Kodlix brand with N4100 Celeron. These small China systems start at around $250 fully outfitted with CPU, RAM and some form of SSD based storage.

2022年12月20日 · I also found that people are using DDR4-3200 CL22 with the N5105 without error, but are their 3200 sticks running underclocked at 2933Mhz if the N5105 wont allow for higher frequency memory? Forgive my ignorance, but if the Intel N5105 is limited to 2933Mhz, wouldn't I theoretically see better performance from two sticks of DDR4-2933 CL19?

I believe it should be similar wattage perhaps a bit more then the N5105 but roughly 20% better cpu performance, it also has AV1 codec support for Youtube and so should be bit ...

2023年1月25日 · I bought a Mini PC with 16GB RAM, a 500GB SSD and the Intel Celeron N5105 because of this post praising its performance. But unfortunately my experience was extremely disappointing. I am running the PC on Windows and it can't handle transcoding even a single 4K file. The CPU ramps up to 100% and the video keeps buffering on my client (Android).
