Apr 9, 2021 · With my X-T3 set to Continuous-Low at 4fps, I get much better results with AF-S than AF-C. The AF system is so fast on this camera that it can refocus between shots at this speed. When I choose AF-C, about half the time it cannot even acquire initial focus. Probably my technique and I will try Morris's settings to see if I get better results.

Feb 14, 2021 · One thing to add to what Herco and claude are saying, be careful about confusing correct focus with apparent bad sharpness from low contrast. Even the most well focused, sharp images can look soft if the contrast is low. Use the image processing software to boost the contrast a bit and see what a difference that makes.

Mar 13, 2024 · I'm also using Custom Mode 6 with the settings that Morris recommends. It's a good general purpose set although I do run into issues occasionally where the camera is unable to focus on strongly back lit subjects or low contrast subjects at infinity.

If you were to flip between L3:2 and M (edium)3:2 you should see the pixel dimensions in the lower left corner of your screen shift accordingly.

Mar 22, 2022 · With the DR, you can set it to 100, which essentially renders it "off", to 200 which protects the highlights of the image to be more recoverable in post, and 400 which has the maximum ability to recover highlights in dynamic settings (think very high contrast settings where you don't want to meter for only the shadows or only the highlights).
