Any play can be run out of Bone, but as a non-spread formation, it’s unique enough to warrant two dedicated sections in the playbook (one run, one pass). Bone is useful in goal-line and short-yardage situations, as well as when additional or maximum pass protection is needed. It’s also great for younger teams who might struggle with the spread.
