Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov says Russian President Vladimir Putin met with U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff to discuss details of the American proposal for a 30-day ceasefire in the war with Ukraine.

Ukraine attacked Moscow with drones overnight the morning after Vladimir Putin rejected a temporary ceasefire mediated by the US. Russian air defences repelled four drones which were flying towards the capital, according to Sergei Sobyanin, the city’s mayor. Mr Sobyanin said there was little damage and no casualties.
