As wildfires ravaged multiple parts of the state, Governor Kevin Stitt declared a State of Emergency for 12 Oklahoma counties.

According to a press release, Governor Stitt signed Executive Order 2025-06 on Saturday, declaring a state of emergency in Cleveland, Creek, Dewey, Grady, Lincoln, Logan, Oklahoma, Pawnee, Payne, Pottawatomie, Roger Mills and Stephens counties.

Hundreds of homes were destroyed as wildfires swept across Oklahoma, prompting authorities to issue evacuation orders.

More than 150 blazes were burning in Oklahoma alone, damaging many structures and hundreds of thousands of acres, and causing one death.
