Newly minuted Unrivaled Defensive Player of the Year Angel Reese will miss the Rose's semifinal game vs. the Laces due to a hand injury.

Unrivaled announced Saturday that Rose BC forward Angel Reese of the WNBA's Chicago Sky was named the 2025 Defensive Player of the Year.

Angel Reese will miss her team’s Unrivaled semifinal matchup on Sunday because of a hand injury, the league announced Saturday.

Angel Reese and the No. 2 seed Rose BC will start their Unrivaled playoff run on Sunday as they face the No. 3 seed Laces BC.

Angel Reese was named Unrivaled Defensive Player of the Year, shortly before the league announced she won’t play in Sunday's semifinal playoff game.

Angel Reese made sure to show her teammates some love on their way to the Unrivaled semifinals. According to reports, Rose BC's Defensive Player of the Year gifted the roster custom pairs of Powerbeats Pro 2 high-performance earbuds along with a note.

The inaugural Unrivaled season is coming to an end as the 3-on-3 basketball league is in its first iteration of the playoffs, but one of the league's stars won't be playing in the semifinals. The Laces are set to face off against the Rose in the first semifinal game.
